What not to wear with grey

Today I saw a girl walking down the street with a reasonably nice mid-grey suit on. It had some black detail and she was wearing a white shirt.

Now, I don't necessarily subscribe to the idea that your shoes have to match your bag, but to wear tan shoes with grey - it just didn't look right. This is one of those occasions when basic black would have been best - or even red as a contrast would have been better.

It is only my opinion, but tan does not go with grey. Maybe I sound old fashioned - but there you go.

It just goes to show that neutral isn't alway best.
